MBA HealthGroup was performing backups per server, and as the company grew, this backup method was turning into a tedious process. Brett Wilhelm, MBA’s system adminstrator, was concerned the solution could not sustain much longer with MBA’s data growth patterns. “Due to growth of our data protection requirements, it was necessary to move to a solution that offered centralization and consolidation,” Wilhelm said. Ideally, Wilhelm wanted a solution that would simplify his workload, which would require a method for centralized backup, recovery, archiving and support managed by one vendor in one solution. However, Wilhelm saw that a typical backup solution consisted of two distinctly separate components; software and hardware, so Wilhelm expected finding this ideal solution at the right price range would be nearly implausible.
